The term ‘embedded’ cannot escape the echoes of Pentagon terminology, and perhaps this is not trivial. It is a question of to what ends the technology is deployed and whom it is working for or against. While the technical modalities of the technology are revolutionary, the goals are the rather mundane and conventional ones of (panoptical) control.
